The Creative Nervous System
Your nervous system doesn’t just regulate your stress—it also affects your creative flow. Here’s how to work with it, not against it.
Dear Friends,
Your creativity lives in your body—not your to-do list.
Yesterday, I woke up, made my coffee, meditated for five minutes, then rolled out my mat for a slow, restorative 30-minute flow. Nothing fancy—just breath, movement, and morning quiet time (my favorite). By the end, I felt clear, grounded, and creatively awake. That’s when the ideas start to come.
Your nervous system plays a big role in how you access flow and expression. When your vagus nerve is supported, you feel safe, open, and ready to create.
Simple practices like deep breathing, humming, and yoga tone the vagus nerve and reconnect you with your natural creative rhythm. (This is Polyvagal Theory in real life.)
It’s why so many of my clients say their best ideas come after they’ve moved their body.
👉 This week’s class at the bottom of this email is the perfect way to spark that flow.
