When the going gets tough:

The tough ask these 4 questions.

Transitions are a huge part of life. We go through them with jobs, relationships, family dynamics, new opportunities, and lifestyle changes as we grow and evolve. Sometimes we go through them within our own bodies and minds, and those can be pretty dang challenging. Transitions are challenging — because they stretch us. They stretch us beyond what we knew we were capable of before — and that is their gift.

How we show up through life transitions is what matters. It’s not just about getting from point A to point B. How we get there says a lot about our character and the work we are doing to be better humans. How we get there impacts who we are when we arrive.

It’s like on your yoga mat — are you rushing to get from one pose to the next? Why? What about the transition — the getting there? Each transition on your mat is an opportunity to practice slowing down, being present, and enjoying the journey. Such is life.

One of the things that has helped me the most over the past few years as I’ve navigated some huge life transitions is my life coach. I have a call with him just about every other week, and he not only keeps me accountable to the life I’m creating, but he’s a sounding board with amazing ideas and I always look forward to our sessions because he helps me see things I wouldn’t see on my own. He checks my blind spots. He reflects what I’m saying back to me in a way that helps me understand it better. He asks the right questions that get me thinking about the things I need to think about to help me move in the direction I want to go.

He’s helped me tremendously in my decision-making process as I grow The Studio, navigate a new relationship, be a good parent, and the list goes on.

All this to say — we need support, y’all. We were not meant to walk through life alone.

When I became a certified life coach in 2022, I was so excited to start giving this gift back to others — of individual support, accountability, and holding space. We are all going through something, because life is wild. It’s like a river, ever-flowing and shifting, and we have to learn how to swim with the current, not against it. That is what a coach will help you do.

This week, I invite you into some self-inquiry work. Get your journal and pen out, set aside ten minutes, and let’s get started.
